Maria Gavala was born in Koropi, Attica, in 1947. She studied history and archeology at the University of Athens, graduating in 1972. She directed films, including: “About Love – Chrysanthi” (1982), “The Scent of Violets” (1985) and “The Magic Glass” (1988). She wrote film reviews, which were published in publications such as the magazine Contemporary Cinema.[3] She also translated theoretical and film texts, as well as literary works.
